Genicis Aguilar is Amity Law Group’s newest attorney. Ms. Aguilar obtained her JD at the Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles, CA in 2017 and received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Riverside, in 2013.
Ms. Aguilar is a very accomplished person. She is bilingual in Spanish and English and is a member of the Mexican Bar Association, and the Latina Lawyers Bar Association. She has volunteered with the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles and the Southwestern Law School Immigration Clinic.
Ms. Augilar has served in past externships with the Orange County Public Defender and the Riverside Public Defender.
Professionally, Ms. Augilar has done a lot since obtaining her JD. She has served as an associate attorney with the Law Offices of Ramin R. Younessi from June 2019 to July 2021. There, she managed a full caseload, supported a senior attorney, and worked with a paralegal to meet all deadlines and successfully advocate for clients. She also litigated class actions, wage and hour, PAGA, and FEHA Employment Law cases from inception to trial in Los Angeles Superior Courts, Federal Courts, and arbitration. She drafted motions, demurrer, and motions to compel arbitration and discovery motions. Ms. Augilar interviewed clients in Spanish and English and assisted them for mediations and trial. She also has experience defending plaintiffs in depositions (including Zoom depositions), and attended telephonic court hearings.
Ms. Augilar is admitted to practice in all California state courts, United Stations District Court, and Central District Court.
